Hair extensions

Hair extensions in Warsaw are a treatment that transforms the length and volume of your hairstyle in a single visit. At PIED-DE-POULE, we work with sandwich, keratin, and capsule methods—we tailor the technique to your hair's structure and density. Schedule an appointment and see what results we can achieve.

A method adapted to the hair structure

Each technique works differently – we choose it according to the density, thickness and condition of the strands.

Natural strands indistinguishable from your own

We use high-quality hair – after the treatment, the line between your own hair and the extensions is invisible.

Lengthening and thickening in one treatment

We add length and volume at the same time—no separate visits required.

Correction instead of re-treatment

The strands can be repositioned and reused multiple times – a touch-up every few weeks is enough to maintain the effect.

Hair extensions at PIED-DE-POULE

Hair extensions and thickening involve attaching donated strands of hair to your own hair using various bonding techniques. The effect depends on the chosen method, the number of strands, and their length. At our salon, we offer three techniques—each with a different attachment method and different indications.

The sandwich method is a cold technique—strands are attached without the use of high temperatures. Cold hair extensions are recommended for thin and delicate strands—they don’t overload the natural structure. It’s also the only suitable option for oily scalps, where keratin capsules lose their grip more quickly.

The keratin method involves attachment using keratin capsules melted with thermal tongs. Once hardened, the connection is transparent and very small—invisible even when the hair is tied back. Nanocapsule hair extensions are a variant of this method—the connecting elements are smaller and lighter, reducing the load on the strands.

Hair encapsulation is a separate service—strands are attached with individual elements, allowing for very precise placement. It works well for short hair extensions and for curly hair extensions, where it’s important that the attachment is not visible due to the varying texture.

The cost of hair extensions depends on the number of strands, their length, and the chosen method. We provide a price list for hair extensions during a consultation in Warsaw, after assessing the hair and determining the scope of the treatment. We do not quote upfront without seeing the hair.

Contraindications include very weak hair, oily roots, or hair that has undergone aggressive chemical treatments. In such cases, we recommend strengthening and rebuilding the structure of the strands— this is a condition for the durability of the fastening.

If you care about the details of a specific capsule technique, the scope and course of the procedure are described in detail in a separate section devoted to this method.

From consultation to finished hairstyle

01
Hair consultation and assessment

We assess the density, thickness, and condition of the strands. We determine the application method, number of strands, and their length—ensuring a natural and lasting effect for the individual.

02
Selection and preparation of strands

We match the strands to the color and texture of your own hair. For curly or very light hair, selecting the shade takes longer—the final result depends on the precision of this step.

03
Dividing hair into sections

We divide the hairstyle into horizontal sections from the back of the head upwards. The attachment is arranged in layers, with the joints covered by the strands above.

04
Attaching the bands

We place the donated strand on the natural strand and connect it using your chosen method—cold clamp, keratin capsule, or capsule element. Each connection is individually tested for durability.

05
Assessment of symmetry and uniformity

Once all the strands are attached, we assess the evenness, symmetry, and naturalness of the effect. If necessary, we make adjustments before proceeding to the final finish.

06
Cutting and length equalization

After securing the hair, we even out the length and shape it. We discuss aftercare—what products to use and when to return for a touch-up.

The length and volume that remain

  • Length and volume change performed in one visit

No waiting for natural growth – the effect is visible immediately.

  • Strands indistinguishable from your own hair

Precise selection of color and structure makes the joints invisible.

  • Possibility of correction without replacing the bands

They can be moved higher as they grow out – one set will last for several corrections.

  • The method is tailored to your hair, not the other way around.

We don't impose one technique – we choose the one that is least burdensome to your natural strands.

FAQ

  • How long does the effect last?

It depends on the method and growth rate. Touch-ups are usually needed every 6–10 weeks. The strands can be re-styled multiple times—no need to buy new ones each time.

  • How many strands are needed for full extensions?

The keratin method typically requires 100–150 strands, while the capsule method requires 120 or more. The exact number is determined during a consultation after assessing hair density.

  • Can the treatment be performed on short hair?

Yes, short hair extensions are possible, but the natural strands must be at least a few centimeters long for the attachment to hold and be invisible.

  • Can I dye my hair after the treatment?

It depends on the method. With the capsule technique, direct contact of the ink with the capsules should be avoided. With the sandwich method, there are fewer restrictions—we discuss this individually during a consultation.

  • How to care for your hair after the treatment?

We recommend silicone-free shampoos for the roots, regularly moisturizing the ends, and avoiding towel-wrapping. Specific recommendations are tailored to the chosen attachment method.
